The world's first series production aircraft was constructed by the Brasilian-French Alberto Santos-Dumont. The Demoiselle monoplanes went from series N° 19 to N°22, and the small monoplane achieved 120 km/h.The pilot sat a seat between the main wheels, in a structure made of bamboo. Since its creator gave the plans of this simple aircraft for free, many replica's were build later on. However, we only know about one original example, at the Musée de l'Air in Le Bourget (see photo's)
