Heinkel He 111

German iconic twin engine bomber. Below a list of survivors - not included are the dozen surviving Spanish licence built CASA 2111 "Pedro".
  • WNr2940 - He 111E-3 flew in the Legion Condor during the Spanish Civil war, transferred to the Spanish armed forces in 1938, since 1965 on display at the Museo del Aire, Cuatro Vientos , Madrid with hull code "25-82"
  • WNr2527 -  He 111H-1 of KG 26 (hull code 6N+NH), sank to the bottom of Lake Jonsvatnet, Trondheim (Norway) when ice thawed in April 1940. Almost complete wreck recovered in 2004, pending restoration in Berlin. 
  • WNr1526 - He 111P-1 of I./KG4 intercepted by Royal Navy Skua's on April 26, 1940, crashed in mountains near Lesjaskog, Norway. Recovered bij Norwegian Armed Forces Museum in 1976, restored and on display in its wartime livery as 5J+CN (see photos).
  • WNr701152-  He 111H-20 - a paratrooper transport version (hull code NT+SL), captured  in Germany at the end of hostilities, arrived in the UK, used in the movie "The Battle of Britain", since 1978 on display at RAF Museum, Hendon in its wartime scheme and codes. (see photos)
